Ok, I gave it a shot. This is my first tutorial, and it is the first model I really memorized. The flapping crane. This will be followed by the other two when have a chance to sit down with photoshop some more, so for now just be patient and have fun with this one.

This is also the first set of pictures took with my new camera, so I'm sorry if the pictures are all a bit fuzzy. Still learning the settings. Finally found the macro feature towards the end, but I wasn't about to reatake all the shots. Call me lazy if you want.

And have I mentioned that I'm not really much good with photoshop?

If any of the steps are unclear just tell me and I'll try to explain further. Usually I don't explain with writing, but by showing in person, so this was a hell of an excercise for me.

if for some reason it doesn't want to show a thumbnail: the picture is there, just fullview it.

I stuck on step 5.. how do you do what you did on the other side? the underside doesnt have that spare flap used to make the square on the top side...

here is a good tutorial into making the preliminary base (which is what you're trying to do): [link]
Glad to see you're trying it out!

Everyone develops their own style in the little folds like shaping the head and tail in the end. The important part is the base, which is the same from bird to bird. Which is why it's called the bird base. it doesn't matter if it looks a little differant in the end, it's the same bird. I just showed the way I do it is all.
