Hercules Beetle

Ok, I would call this my first "serious" model. It's Satoshi Kamiya's Hercules beetle, and it was a real pain to do. I was flip-flopping between calling it that or "how I learned to stop worrying and love the sink fold"! Sink folding is the keyword to this model. Just for fun I went through and counted them for you. There are 10. 10 sink folds! AHAHAHAHA...Sorry. Sign I grew up in the 90s I guess. Anyhow, that is a lot. Coming out of that, I feel I can sink fold anything, open or closed! The actual model came out a bit rounder and thicker then they usually do, but it wa smy first attempt and I suspect I should have used larger paper to get the legs better. By the end there I was sorta just bending them into place, which is bad origami. The horn, jaw, abdomen and wings however, came out amazing! So happy with them. So on this model the only real imrovement I need is on the legs. Good to know, you know?
