I had fun with colour. not much more to say about it. Please pardon the non-photo blue pencil you can see around some of the areas.
I really like how the copper coloured scales and the blood dripping off the knife came out. and the hat looks awesome. I know that at this point i'm just patting myself on the back, but what can I say, I don't see my work in colours all that often. Comes very close to being my favorite work and pushing Busker1 out of the coveted userpage spot.
Some info about the piece:
- It was a commission for ~KoboldCleaver
- His name is Drint Coppersworth, a Kobold.
- He wields a knife and has a tragic backstory that appealed to my sense of comic book fan.
- And he wanted a dancing top-hat if I could. And I could, so I did.
- This particular moment is right after he was forced to kill a guard who was chasing him, and so he declined to a life of running and theft...or something like that. I like to think the hat represents the deep place in his mind that is now laughing at the tragedy that is his new life. Dunno why. The contradictory jovial dance on the head of such a pathetically shriven beast. Moments of retrospective analysis such as this are moments I live for.

i really like that, you remind me of this guy i liked a few years ago, he would draw things like this all the time. its great inspiration. he tried to teach me how to draw but that didnt work out so well.
